Terms of Use
Last updated: May 24, 2026
The short version
Midpt is a free tool for finding a meeting point between friends. Use it for that. Don't use it to harass, stalk, scrape, spam, or break the law. We provide it as-is — if it goes down or gets something wrong, we're not on the hook for your missed brunch.
Acceptable use
- Don't enter someone else's address without their permission.
- Don't use Midpt to track, surveil, or harass anyone.
- Don't try to scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Don't submit content that's illegal, hateful, or impersonates someone else.
- Don't use Midpt for anything where being wrong about a location matters (emergency response, legal evidence, etc.).
No accounts, no guarantees
Midpt doesn't require sign-up. Anyone with a Midpt link can view and join it. Share links carefully. We don't guarantee uptime, accuracy of the midpoint, accuracy of suggested venues, or that a Midpt will exist forever.
Venue suggestions
Suggested parks, bars, and restaurants come from third-party map data. We don't endorse, verify, or have any relationship with the businesses shown. Check hours, reviews, and accessibility before you go.
Liability
Midpt is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to bad meetup spots, getting lost, or social embarrassment.
Reporting abuse
If a Midpt is being misused — harassment, someone added without consent, or inappropriate content — email contact@midpt.ca with the Midpt link and we'll review it. Hosts can also delete the Midpt themselves from the Midpt page.
Attribution
Maps, geocoding, and venue data are provided by Google Maps Platform. Use of those services is subject to Google's terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
Changes & termination
We may update these terms or change/discontinue the service at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms. We can remove any Midpt that violates these terms.
Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data. Short version: coordinates, not addresses.
